Conservation Easement Process
Deadlines:
To facilitate the smoothest conservation easement transaction process, in order to be completed in the calendar year you are considering for the project, the following deadlines need to be adhered to.
August 15th
All projects need to be started by this date with Letter of Intent signed. After August 15th, the project will most likely be deferred until the following calendar year in an effort to close those that have already been started before August 15th.
November 15th
All documentation that will be necessary in order to close the transaction must be received by this date. This includes surveys, appraisals, water share documentation, title commitments, baseline reports, mineral and hazards reports, subordination agreements along with their statement of authority. This allows for any last minute changes, and attorney reviews.
