Committees
The committees that help the Land Trust run its affairs and contribute to the short- and long-term success of our program are:
Events Committee - The Events Committee is responsible for planning and implementing special events throughout the year necessary to raise funds to help with the general revenue needs of Legacy Land Trust, increase community outreach and awareness, and increase membership.
Executive Committee – The Executive Committee recommends policy changes and additions to the full Board of Directors, oversees the long-range strategic planning for the Land Trust and evaluates potential programs prior to presentation to the full Board. This committee consists of officers of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director, and at the discretion of the Executive Committee, the Past President of the Board and/or an at-large member from the Board of Directors. The Executive Committee meets as needed.
Finance Committee - The Finance Committee recommends investment strategy for the Land Trust's funds, and coordinates other financial matters, including the annual budget, accounting procedures, and external audits. This committee meets quarterly to complete specific tasks.
Nominating Committee - The Nominating Committee, an ad hoc committee, works to develop the Board of Directors, including recruiting, interviewing, and nominating new Board members. This Committee meets as necessary to complete specific tasks.
Philanthropy Committee – The Philanthropy Committee provides guidance and capacity building input to Executive Director and Development Director to engage potential supporters (natural partners) and develop relationships over time to fulfill fundraising goals for each fiscal year and beyond.
Project Identification Team - The PIDT evaluates potential conservation projects, recommends projects to the Board, and tracks the details of projects from initiation through completion. The Project Team is typically composed of ecologists, zoologists, geologists, natural resource, and business and agricultural professionals.
